The introduction to the 12 Weeks to Weight Loss and
Wellness Program empowers you to begin to take care
of yourself. Its focus is on discovering healthy lifestyle
habits, and the steps you need to take to adopt these
habits.
Week 2 - How to Stay Motivated
Or, how to find the power to stay healthy! The desire
for optimal health can be a powerful motivator –
the key to first losing weight and then keeping it off.
Week 3 - A Step in the Right Direction
Both positive self-esteem and a strong sense of self-worth
are essential to developing lasting, healthy self-care
practices. We'll help you change certain core beliefs
and help you learn to value yourself enough to live
the life you've always wanted and deserve to live.
Week 4 - A Different Approach
You'll learn healthy eating skills, including differentiating
between physical versus emotional hunger and recognizing
when you feel full.
Week 5 - Identifying Your Eating Patterns
You'll target the "action/reaction" cycle
of eating. Maybe a bad day at work has you finding yourself
eating a bag of chips. Or maybe a fight with a relative
catches you downing a pint of chocolate-chip ice cream.
Learn when you eat as a reaction to events and emotions,
and how to respond to stressors and emotions in a healthier
way.
Week 6 - Managing Change
You know that change doesn't occur overnight. And trying
to change too many things at once is overwhelming. You'll
learn to focus on setting and managing goals.
Week 7 - Stress and the Eating Connection
When we are managing life challenges in a way that makes
us feel in control, we can make a difference in how
stress effects our lives. Learn how to feel in control
- even when unexpected events occur.
Week 8 - Finding Your Balance
You said "yes" when you really wanted to say
"no." The demands and expectations of others
can add stress to our lives. Recognize your limits and
learn how to set boundaries for yourself.
Week 9 - Communication and You
How you communicate with others effects how they communicate
with you. Effective communication is typically open,
honest and appropriate. Effective communication enhances
self-esteem and nurtures relationships. Learn how to
communicate effectively in your life.
Week 10 - Making an Attitude Shift
Imagine what you'll feel like when you can have freedom
from food. Freedom from thinking about food all of the
time. Freedom from always thinking about that bag of
chips in the vending machine or about that chocolate
bar when you're in the grocery store line-up. You'll
learn techniques for shifting your attitude to make
yourself a top priority - instead of food.
Week 11 - Building a Strong Foundation
Time to reinforce all that you've learned over the past
ten weeks. You're operating under a new set of strategies
- the foundation for the rest of your life.
Week 12 - Goal-setting - A Winning Approach
And finally, you learn more techniques for setting realistic,
attainable goals on the road to success.
