I have lost weight before but never kept it off. Diets
don’t work and even my doctor said that the yo-yo
effect of dieting is not good. The 12 Weeks session
has changed my focus and outlook.
My goal is now performance based (i.e. to lead a more
active life and eat healthier food when I am hungry
and stop when I am full) rather than to lose weight
which is an outcome-based goal. I am not interested
in what the scales say, I focus more on how I feel and
the energy that I have. As long as my clothes are not
tight, I know I am doing okay. I lead a more balanced
life and am not obsessed about food. I now look at food
more as a fuel for my body.
I basically knew what to do but the 12 Weeks session
has given me the tools to accomplish my goal. Before,
losing the weight was the battle and once I got there,
I had nothing to focus on. For me, this is a lifestyle
change that makes me feel good about myself.

The 21 Day Plan became the starting point of my fitness
mania! What started to be a commitment for a three-day
exercise for 21 days has become a lifetime commitment
for myself. I now exercise at least 5 days a week and
I can see the results. I’ve lost weight but most
especially, I feel good. I realized that anything is
attainable. If there’s a will, there’s a
way. It’s all a matter of determination and hard
work.

After meeting one on one with
Mary, I came away with a clear idea of what my core
values in life were. I gave it some thought as to how
to include these core values into my life and came up
with some action items to use in my 21 day plan. So
for 21 days I read my core values and recorded on a
calendar the items that I said I wanted in my life.
My goal was written down and I think looking at the
calendar every day and seeing that I was on track kept
me going. It was a very powerful exercise and I thank
Mary for helping me clarify what is important to me.

Thank you for encouraging me to participate in the 21
day challenge. Meeting with you and discussing my challenge
seemed so difficult at the start. By the end of the
21 days, not only had I succeeded for the 21 days, I
have changed my lifestyle permanently. The 21 day challenge
was an excellent way to discipline myself and find the
determination, dedication and awareness I never knew
I had.
